Biography

Dr. Jane O'Donnell is a neonatologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego, section chief of the Division of Neonatology, and medical director of Rady Children's neonatal intensive care unit at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. She is also chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Scripps La Jolla.

After completing her neonatal fellowship at UC San Diego/Rady Children's in 1999, she joined the neonatology team at Rady Children's as an attending neonatologist and cardiac/ECMO specialist. In 2003, when the Rady Children's NICU opened at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, she became the unit's medical director.

Her clinical interests include the recognition and treatment of early onset neonatal sepsis and the special needs of the late preterm infant population.
